Nylon
Nylon is a cast polyimide with good sliding
properties and is used for back rings, guide rings and bearing
components instead of Ecotal
acetal for a diameter above 260 mm. Nylon can be
used in mineral oils and water-based fire-resistant hydraulic fluids.
When designing parts out of Nylon for an application in water or
water-based fluids, the swelling of the material (Nylon absorbs water up
to 8 weight percent) must be taken into account.
